Interestingly enough, all three countries – Sweden Finland, and Norway – start celebrating in early December with a festivity called St. Lucia’s. It has been named St. Lucia’s for decades because of a Christian martyr, who died to keep her religious beliefs. As another delicious tradition, each family serves coffee along with cultural baked goods, such as saffron bread and ginger biscuits. These Christmas traditions are created and practiced in different regions of the globe to honor the importance of Christ and celebrate the holiday season with family.
